Automatic comparison of tables and fields

The data required for migration (target state) can be predefined down to the level of fields. This catalog of required data can then be automatically compared with the tables and fields in the source system. Customizing fields are also captured. The solution is fully flexible. Any gap between current state and target state is recorded in the protocol.

Easy separation of data

Table queries can be limited by the definition of filters so that only relevant master- and change data will be extracted. Thus, the export can be limited to a particular period, company code, numbering range or a combination of different criteria.

Automatization of Mass Data Exports

By predefining the required contents, the export can be executed automatically with the touch of a button - thanks to the possibility of schedulin the export as a task, this can even be done at times when the system is not being productively used. The interface is excellently suitable for the extraction of mass data and has been successfully tested on tables with a three-digit number of millions of records.

Flexibility at choosing the destination format

The destination format can be whatever format is best suited to the migration. Some examples are Access databases, Excel, XML or dBase. To fulfill all legal requirements, the data can parallely be made available in the so-called >GDPdU< format which is the description standard of financial authorities.

Security Features

dab:carveout builds on the security features and the authorization concept used by SAP® R/3®. Only viewing access is necessary which means data in a SAP® R/3® system can be read, but never manipulated by the interface.

The entire process from the comparison of tables and fields via the export to validation and conversion is protocoled in detail. That makes the process documentable at any time in front of third parties like External Auditors or business partners. Transparency and reconstructability are maintained, for internal and external uses.

Validation

After exporting, the consistency of the data can be verified using professional analysis software like ACL™. Numbers of records, validity of individual fields, checksums and table structures are documented and verifiable. This assures that exactly and only the required data was extracted, no more, no less. Moreover, problems caused by technical disruptions (network malfunctions and others) are eliminated.
