Efficient Extraction of Mass Data

The dab:exporter is a solution for the issues of data access and extraction according to ACL™ und >GDPdU< format. The dab:exporter allows for direct access to ERP-, database and archiving systems.

The dab:exporter allows for unlimited access to the tables in a SAP® R/3® system and makes it possible to extract data from all modules of SAP® R/3® in comformity with the rules of >GDPdU<. Moreover, data can be extracted directly to ACL™ format, allowing for immediate analysis of the data without prior manual adaptation.

Concept

Intuitive concept of use

The dab:exporter supports the user in selecting and extracting data from SAP® R/3®. An intuitive user interface guides the user through the steps of extracting data. A wizard greatly simplifies the entire process of data extraction by providing a Help function.

Flexible Table Queries

Using the dab:exporter, you select tables from any SAP® R/3® system(s). The supported types of tables are: Clustered, Pooled and Transparent. Apart from selecting the tables to be exported, the user can implement table-specific settings like a limitation of the export to specific fields or a record-level limitation (Number of records to be exported).

Filtered Table Queries

Table queries can be limited by defining filtering rules in order to export only relevant data, e.g. data from a specific period. This allows for a drastic reduction of data volume and network traffic and a relevant improvement of extraction performance.

Export of Mass Data

Using the dab:exporter, you can select and extract any number of tables in one single step. There is no limitation regarding the number of fields or the number of records in a table.

Technical Details

Easy installation

For establishing a connection to a SAP® R/3® system, the dab:exporter requires two preparatory measures: On the client side, the dab:exporter must be installed. On the side of the SAP® R/3® system, an rfc component must be implemented.
If a corresponding user account is already established in SAP® R/3®, the software can be put to work immediately, otherwise a user account with the required access rights must be implemented by the client. This is an effort of approx. 20 minutes.

CPU frequency: min. 500 MHz
Memory: 256 MB RAM
HDD: Dependent on the volume of the data to be exported
SAP®-GUI incl. DotNet-components

Batch function for automization

Using a batch function, repetitive export jobs can be scheduled as Windows-Jobs which will be triggered automatically at the set time and so automate data export processes.

Security features

The dab:exporter uses SAP®´s security features and authorization concept. Moreover, access to tables is always in a read-only mode, meaning the data in a SAP® R/3® system can never be edited in any way through the use of the dab:exporter.

Data Guidance

Formatting of data according to >GDPdU<

The exported data is formatted according to the >Principles of of Data Access and of Verifiability of Digital Manuscripts< (>GDPdU<) and saved in machine-readable format. The dab:exporter exports and formats the data according to the >GDPdU< guidelines.
